Burning Energy, the Healthy Way

Like humans who may feel fatigued after a busy day, dogs often experience tiredness following a full day of engaging activities. This is a normal response. Our dog day care provides numerous opportunities for your dog to participate in enriching activities such as running and jumping. It is important to note that dogs interact using their paws and mouths, which may result in scrapes, scratches, or even punctures or tears—especially during playful interactions with other dogs. These marks can be more visible on breeds with shorter coats. Such occurrences are comparable to children with acquiring injuries while playing in supervised settings. Aggressive dogs are not allowed, and we proactively manage the environment to minimize conflicts and excessive rough play. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding your dog’s group behavior, please do not hesitate to contact us. Additionally, you may observe your pet throughout the day via our webcam at your convenience.

Temperament Test

To maintain the safety of our playgroups, all dogs are required to successfully complete a temperament assessment. Evaluations are conducted on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, beginning at 8:00 am- 9:30 am scheduled for 15-minute intervals.

The temperament assessment involves an initial evaluation period of at least three hours. All dogs begin the process with staff-owned large dogs, followed by introductions to staff-owned small dogs, prior to any interaction with client dogs (if you have a small dog they will be introduced to small first then introduced to larger). Assessments start in the small area; if the dog demonstrates readiness, they will transition to the larger play area at an appropriate pace—never forced into the busier environment.

Clients may observe the first ten minutes of the assessment from our back room, allowing them to see their dog without being seen in return. The daycare manager, who conducts the assessment, will always explain his procedure and ensure you are comfortable prior to taking your dog back. The Front Manager will inform you about the process by answering any questions and explaining the entire procedure. At DogSpot, we prioritize building trusting relationships. Understanding that caring for your dog is a responsibility requiring earned trust.

On the day of the assessment, we request that your dog stays for a minimum of three hours to evaluate compatibility with our playgroup. This extended period is particularly beneficial for fearful or shy dogs, enabling us to work with them patiently and reassure them throughout their time. Clients are also welcome to leave their dogs for the entire day at no additional cost; our facility closes at 8:00 p.m.

LOVE DOGSPOT. Clean, friendly staff, accommodating, and family oriented. They took my dog in like their own and even sent me updates!

Feels nice to have my dog watched by staff that actually cares! Best part is that they are open and honest.”
